Sidewalk Days Festival

Hit the bricks and enjoy Downtown Duluth’s biggest summer celebration.
The Sidewalk Days Festival is scheduled to run July 8th, 9th & 10th.

Get in on great shopping, mouth-watering food, toe-tapping music and fun for the kids during this annual event in the heart of the city.  More than 50 different vendors will join our Downtown merchants to take to the street.  Superior Street will be closed to vehicular traffic starting at 8:00AM each day between Lake Avenue and 4th Avenue West.  So stroll the street and experience how the community spirit really comes alive in Duluth’s Downtown. Plus, the activity spreads outside the blocked boundaries, from First Street to Fitgers.

Runners and walkers—get your team together for the 2nd Annual Sidewalk Shuffle 5k Run & Walk.  Sponsored in part by the Greater Downtown Council, the Duluth YMCA will be hosting this lunch-hour race at 12:10pm on July 8th.  Get a team of co-workers together to walk or run, corporate teams are encouraged, or go it alone!  As part of the Sidewalk Days Festival and as a fundraiser for the YMCA’s Strong Kids Campaign, come out and support your community.   For more information click here  or call Angel Hohenstein, Duluth YMCA Membership Coordinator at (218) 722-4745 x175

9th Annual Classic Car show and Harley Revue begins on Superior Street, July 8th at 5:00 pm.  Six blocks of classic cars and motorcycles – Lake Avenue to 6th Ave West.  In addition to the cars and bikes, music is provided on each block. Bands scheduled to appear are Don’t Panic, Hoot Owls, and Park Avenue, Rock a Billy Revue, Shack Shakers and Sweet Grass. On July 9th the street and stage events continue into a fun filled Thursday.  The second installment of the Rock the Block summer concert series begins at 4:30pm when Brandon Scott Sellner, presented by ZLB, takes to the stage in front of Jitters at 1st West Ave and Superior St.  Grab a chair and a cool drink and listen to some polished blues infused with electric guitar.

The Friday night First Street dance tradition continues with the popular Pot Bellied Stallions playing in front of Aces on First and the new Live Downtown presenting the Monsters of Mock to dance away the night.
Sleep in Saturday as you’ll need your rest; Lamont Cranston will be playing in front of Dubh Linn Pub from 8:00 to Midnight.  Beverages and the blues, enough said.
